Betamax Goodies

This update also contains a snippet from After Dark with Donnie Sutherland, recorded on November 29th 1983, and transmitted by the Seven network on February 11th 1984. In 2008 I got contacted by a friend who had met Donnie and during a chat Donnie mentioned he had some episodes of this show “on small tapes”. Upon chatting to this friend, I found out the tapes were betamax format and unfortunately, Donnie didn’t have a betamax deck to play and/or transfer them to DVD with.

Frankster to the rescue! My friend reported back to Donnie I had a machine and could do his transfers, and within days I received about 20 to 25 betamax tapes containing After Dark! I spent a couple of months dubbing them to DVD for him and from what I heard he was most appreciative of it. I’m so glad I was the one that saved Donnie’s tapes! Happy to say most if not all were in great nick for their age too.

Since then that same friend has setup a Youtube page with some of the contents of those transfers and has been given permission by Donnie to do so. I’m sure he won’t mind me putting up a few snippets of it here – after all I *did* do the transfer work. So down the bottom of this update is just one 90 second cut. Enjoy!
