Windows Vista = the new Windows ME?

Yup...

SP1 fails for Vista users

I've never used Vista, I'm quite happy with Windows XP Home SP2 - and after hearing so much about Vista's failing I shudder on the day by force I have to upgrade.

Any positive stories at all about Vista's performance out there?

I have been running Vista on my lappy since early this year and apart from some niggling things (the MS mouse and the touchpad are at wars with each other and I have to give admin permission to use Photoshop and Audition 3 each time I want to use it) it isn't too bad...

I like the features and that I don't have to go looking for so many drivers (but that should be a given).

XP or Vista... hmmm if Audition 3 works on XP then I'd go back..

Cool, I wouldn't mind taking Vista for a test drive but I don't quite have the hardware to run it...yet.

What's audition 3 like? Is it just bugfixes?

Audition has been revamped I think.. looks quite different to Audition 2...

It handles audio better and the video component that Adobe throughin in 2.0 works a hell of a lot better too!

Audition 3 also masters brilliantly and does some amazing things with surround sound.

Impressive! Looks like you're in the middle of a mix of Chad Kroeger's latest - can't wait to hear the result!
